Saturday was the Raingutter Regatta for Sheridan's Cub Scout troop. They got to build little boats, and then play on the inflatable waterslides until race time arrived. Siblings were welcome, much to Rowan's delight.
Sheridan and Rowan both got to be in a race. Neither brought home any trophies but they both had such a great time that Karla and I thought that it was now hot enough for more water activities to take place. So we went to Target and bought them a swimming pool and some water soakers.
Needless to say, the combination was a big hit with the kiddos, and it gives us an opportunity to start spreading some water around our bone dry back yard. The kiddos had a great time, and played till almost bedtime.
The next morning, they hopped up bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to hop back into the pool. I slept in and their bleary eyed Mom sent them out to have fun.
And they did.
But instead of spreading that good old H20 ought amongst the yard, somebody got it in their little head to bring the yard into the pool instead. Yes, this is what I walk out to see when I got up. Notice the pure sparkling water now...
So, action was taken...and the kids enjoyed that too.
Oh, and I actually got some writing done...but 'nuff said on that.
Have a great Monday!
