Morning Stuff

Right now I'm trying to get the kids dressed and out the door to their respective school buses. Logic insists these are the same kids who bounce out of bed on the weekend with energy to spare, but the evidence suggests otherwise. These two creatures have more in common with tree sloths than those weekend bundles of energies. Yet sadly, they still exhibit more energy and enthusiasm than I.

Six thirty is simply not the hour we evolved to wake up at. My personal theory is that, since we have forward facing eyes and canines, our ancestors were predators and most likely nocturnal. Vampires are just a distant fragment of racial memory of our more primitive and happier selves when we woke up in the evening, slaughtered cute fluffy creatures, and held raves around campfires.

Then women insisted on civilization and it all went downhill from there.

Oh well, it is what it is, and the kids have to get off to school. So with apologies to my ancestors, who probably sneer at me with great contempt from the foggy distance of the ages, I must sally forth to put the little boogers on their buses. Yay me!

Oh, and the blue moon version of the alternate cover to Shades: Wind and Dark Waters in yesterday's post has been declared the Peoples Favorite and will soon replace the current less than stellar image.

Happy Humpday, Folks!

  1. Don't go blaming it on women!! I think 6:30 is a completely uncivilized hour of the morning to do anything. :-)

  2. As long as my wife drags me out of bed at 6:30, I'm blaming it on women!
